Try calling Scientific Translations Publishers in Gainsville (904-373-5630). I believe they are one and the same. (3)------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: Linda Connors (Drew University) Subject: Collets Book Service Date: Wed, 25 Aug 1993 13:00:05 -0400 Does anyone have information about Collets Book Service in the U.K.? We've been doing business with them for several years but recent "Customer Acknowledgement" slips have been stamped "in administration" or "The affairs, business and property of the Company are being managed by Peter Lawrence and Colin [illegible] the joint administrators." I assume the "in administration" may be the same as our "in receivership", something akin to bankruptcy. Anyone know more? (4)------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: Rosann Bazirjian (Syracuse University) Subject: Ordering productivity Date: Wed, 25 Aug 1993 15:58:57 -0400 Although I never think of searching and order placement as production work, I'm afraid I need to ask a production-type question. At Syracuse, we search approximately 18,000 items per year (firm order monographs and approvals,) and create approximately 16,000 orders. I'm interested in knowing if any libraries have developed a standard for the number of orders which should be searched per hour or per day per staff member. I know that there are tons of variables, but I am just looking to see if anyone has explored this issue with any success (i.e. has concrete figures to justify reasonable expectation.)
