Hale (Columbia College) Subject: _Music Maker: Adam's Musical Magazine_ I have a stumper query from our Center for Black Music Research that I hope someone will have an answer to. I would like to know the publication dates of a serial entitled, _Music Maker: Adam's Musical Magazine_. It seems to have been published between 1919-1920, but I do not have verification. The Moorland Spingarn Research Collection at Howard University (Washington, D.C.) has issues through vol. 2:8, but no confirmed cessation date. I checked OCLC and did not find any holdings under that title. Another bit of information: _Music Maker_ was published in Washington, D.C. I welcome any/all information that is out there. Please respond to me via e-mail at (axvclkh@uicvmc.bitnet) or by mail/phone. Thanks for your help! Chopmen says that they supply all kinds of monographs and serials published in English and other Asian languages, in Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries. They can also supply legal and government publications as well as publications of associations, societies and universities. However, they do add about 20% to 25% to the price of the material as their service charge and bill you the actual packing and postage. Gaele Gillespie (University of Kansas) Subject: _Nederlandse Bibliografie, 1801-1832_ times two We were blessed with TWO sets of this "gift" -- one directly from the publisher, another via a vendor. The set from the publisher arrived first and had no letter of explanation enclosed; the vendor set arrived next, accompanied by the now-infamous letter, which in turn helped explain the first set. I must say that we *contemplated* keeping one of the unsolicited sets -- compensation, if you will -- but we will return both sets, with a very pointed letter. What rankles even more than the unsolicitedness of it all is that the vendor acted like a distributor, blithely sending the set on to us, rather than nipping it in the bud, fully aware we had not ordered it through them and that there was actually a price attached to this so-called gift. [The next item I post on this title will be from a library that has a follow-up report of its communications with either vendor or publisher. -- C.] (6)------------------------------------------------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Jun 93 17:13:57 PDT From: Maria Cap (Los Angeles County Law Library Subject: Middle East vendors Can anyone recommend vendors or sources for the Arabic speaking countries of the Middle East, such as Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, Jordan, Syria, Kuwait, etc., who would respond to orders?
