Position:
Collection Development Manager, Western Canada
YBP Library Services

YBP Library Services is seeking a highly qualified librarian
to serve as Collection Development Manager for Western Canada.

YBP Library Services, Baker & Taylor’s academic division, is a
global supplier of scholarly materials and services to Academic
and Special Libraries. We are a fast-paced, team-oriented organization
dedicated to the continuing development of information services to
the academic world.

Essential Duties:

· Maintain relationships with Academic and Special Library
customers:
o Supervise collection development process between
vendor and Library.
o Act as a consultant to evaluate workflow solutions to
increase customer efficiency.
· Develop relationships and opportunities with non-customer
libraries:
o Identify new sales opportunities.
o Report and recommend opportunities at libraries including
support in collecting and workflow enhancement.
· Proficiency on ordering, technical service and collection
development applications and interfaces.
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending
professional conferences, reviewing professional publications, and
establishing personal networks.
· Remain current on industry trends, market activities, and
competitors.
· Significant travel from home office to visit customers and
prospects as well as to attend professional events.
· Bachelor’s degree (minimal requirement; MLS or other
advanced degree preferred) and significant experience working with
libraries required.
