The University of North Florida Library invites applications for Head of 
Acquisitions. This
position requires a knowledgeable, energetic candidate grounded in the 
best practices of the
field while at the same time open to creative and innovative methods to 
enhance and expand
intellectual access to the library’s collections and other resources. 
Reports to the Director
of Technical Services; supervises two support staff; works closely with 
the Head of Serials
to disburse a resources budget of approximately $1.5 million, 
coordinating budget and
financial management of all acquisitions funds; maintains print and 
electronic data records,
keeps and reports statistics, prepares reports and forecasts; actively 
participates in collection
development to establish acquisition policies and selection priorities; 
directs daily ordering,
claiming and receiving of all non-journal materials; oversees 
monographic gifts; maintains
vendor relationships; negotiates contracts and licenses with vendors.

Required Qualifications: M.L.S. or its equivalent from an A.L.A. 
accredited program; four
years library acquisitions experience in a university/college or large 
public library setting;
experience with approval plans, vendor negotiations, and integrated 
library system, and the
library publishing market in all formats.

Desirable qualifications: Supervisory experience in managing an 
acquisitions unit. Experience
with ERM and EDI, electronic invoicing, licensing agreements, ExLibris 
Aleph, and
accounting practices and systems.

This is a full-time, non-tenure earning faculty position at the rank of 
Assistant or Associate
University Librarian. Minimum salary: $50,000 per year.
