Potomac Technical Processing Librarians (PTPL) announce the availability
of two $1,000 scholarships for future librarians interested in technical
services. Students living or working in the PTPL membership region (DC,
Maryland, Virginia) and who are currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited
program, including distance education programs, are invited to apply.
Criteria for the award are:
1. The applicant must be a full or part-time student at the Master’s
level and have completed at least one three-hour credit course.
2. The applicant must demonstrate an interest in technical services
through employment, course of study, or research interests.
To apply, please submit the following:
A PTPL scholarship application, including two written references (The
application form can be found at: PTPLscholarshipApplication08-1.doc

A current resume
A one-page, double spaced statement of the applicant’s interest in
library technical services
*DEADLINE TO APPLY IS June 2, 2008*
The scholarships will be awarded by August 29, 2008 and publicly
announced at the annual PTPL meeting in October. The recipients will
receive a free one-year membership in PTPL and have registration fees
for the annual conference waived.
