Library Associates Companies (LAC) seeks Librarian on behalf of our client,
the nation’s principle information and resource center for all aspects 
of sexual
violence. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented librarian with strong 
cataloging
and acquisitions experience who will effectively manage the growing 
resource
center library in Enola, PA. This position is an exceptional opportunity

with a group of dedicated professionals on national advocacy projects that

Responsibilities:

* Supervise a small library team and work collaboratively with the larger
technical assistance team to provide quality information in a variety of 
formats
to staff and clients
* Participate in short and long-term strategic planning related to library
issues, development and implementation of library policies and procedures
* Supervision of library automation/library technology applications,
including the web-based, vendor-hosted library database software,
financial planning
* Oversee library budgets, acquisitions and collection development,
cataloging and shelving of library materials, serials subscriptions and
management, the development of files, management and integration of
materials in electronic formats within the collection, the management of a
library database, management of a thesaurus, and other activities that
effective library management might require
* Provide national leadership and technical assistance on requests
related to developing library collections in coalition or allied 
organizations
* Acquire, maintain and disseminate materials related to all aspects
of sexual violence.
* Provide ready reference and short-term research staff/interns to
support responses to requests
* Participate in the development of information packets or other
publications. Prepare specialized topic searches, and monitor sources
such as the Federal Register and other governmental databases.
* Coordinate DOCLINE Interlibrary loan participation. Obtain
articles and other requested materials through InterLibrary Loan as
appropriate.
* Provide news alerts service to staff.
* Provide staff training and technical assistance related to the
use of the library, conducting on-line research, organizing manual
and electronic searches, use of databases, and legal research.
* Through regular meetings with staff, ascertain the priority and
ongoing information/resource needs, and implement acquisitions and
research strategies to respond to these needs.
* Participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings as required.
* Ensure compliance with copyright policy, including managing
permission requests.

Qualifications:

* MLS degree;
* Ability to work independently and also collaboratively with
other team members;
* Experience with multiple facets of a special library collection;
* Preferred: 5+ years experience in a special library, cataloging
experience, familiar with EOS.Web or other web-based library
software, familiar with MSAccess, familiar with MultiTes or other
thesaurus software, familiar with DOCLINE.
