Subject: Announcement: Journal Costs in Libraries Discussion Group at
ALA Midwinter
The ALCTS CRS Journal Costs in Libraries Discussion Group invites you to
attend:
It’s Like Déjá Vu, All Over Again: Evolving Pricing Models for E-Books
Sunday, January 13, 4:00-6:00 pm
Radisson Plaza, Crystal Ballroom
They’re not journals, but with proliferating pricing models, access
fees, a variety
of platforms, and a host of questions about future directions, e-books
are the
e-journal’s kissing cousin. Addressing questions about what they need
and want
in models for providing and pricing e-book content are:
Dennis Dillon, Associate Director, University of Texas Libraries
Michael McCullough, Sales Manager, Duke University Press
Leo de Vos, Head of Pricing, Elsevier
Scott B. Wicks, Interim Assistant University Librarian, Cornell University
Please join us for a lively exchange of positions and ideas!
For more information, please contact Clint Chamberlain
(chair; c.chamberlain_at_austin.utexas.edu) or Kim Steinle
(vice chair; ksteinle_at_dukeupress.edu) of the
Journal Costs in Libraries Discussion Group.
