Participants are welcome to join breakout discussions on the topics

a short summary for the benefit of all attendees.

The tentative discussion topics are:

  1. Ideas from the report of the Working Group on Bibliographic Control
  2. The future role of cataloging in providing access
  3. Convincing administrators of the need for new positions in TS

  8. Use of vendor cataloging records and shelf-ready services

Volunteers sought: We are asking for volunteers to facilitate and record
the discussions at each topic table. The responsibilities are:

FACILITATORS guide the discussion on the topics at their tables, making
sure everyone participates and keeping it within the allotted time. The

serve as a discussion guide.

RECORDERS take notes during discussions and send a written report to the
chair soon after the conference is over. These reports form the basis
for the reports to ALCTS and Technical Services Quarterly.

If you would be willing to facilitate or record the discussion at one of
the tables, please send your information to Linda Lomker (address email
to: L-Lomk_at_tc.umn.edu) before or by January 4, 2008. Indicate any and
all the topics you would be willing to facilitate or record.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Philadelphia,
