Is your library seeking a way to stay within its materials budget and
still satisfy the needs of student and faculty for access to periodical
articles? The Trinity University Library cancelled subscriptions from
one major publisher and switched to a pay-per-view model. In this
discussion, Trinity librarians will address budgetary dilemmas, public
relations, faculty input, and student issues in a pay-per-view
environment. Linda Beebe (Senior Director of PsycINFO, American
Psychological Association) will offer comments from the professional
society and publishing point of view, while Claire Ginn Winthrop
(Director
of Library Services, Ingenta) will discuss the role of the service
provider as an intermediary between publishers and libraries.
