Subject: *PTPL* *SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2007*
Potomac Technical Processing Librarians (PTPL) announce the availability
of two $1,000 scholarships for future librarians interested in technical
services. Students living or working in the PTPL membership region (DC,
Maryland, Virginia) and who are currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited
program, including distance education programs, are invited to apply.
Criteria for the award are:
1. The applicant must be a full or part-time student at the Masters
level and should have completed at least one three-hour credit course.
2. The applicant must demonstrate an interest in technical services
through employment, course of study, or research interests.
To apply, please submit the following:
- A PTPL scholarship application, including two e-mailed letters of
reference
The application form can be found at: http://www.lib.virginia.edu/ptpl/
- A current resume
- A one-page, double spaced statement of the applicant’s interest in
library technical services
The scholarships will be awarded by August 31, 2007 and publicly
announced at the annual PTPL meeting in October. The recipients will
receive a free one-year membership in PTPL and have registration fees
for the annual conference waived.
