Electronic Resources Librarian.  Joyner Library, East Carolina 
University (ECU) seeks a librarian to fill a one-year fixed term 
faculty position.  The position will focus on maintaining accurate 
information about electronic subscriptions, serial subscription 
packages, license negotiations, and other complex serial/databases 
acquisitions, including holdings, title changes, and renewals.  
Specific duties will include populating and implementing a new 
electronic resources management system and a link resolver and 
gathering and analyzing database usage statistics.  Other duties may 
be assigned.  The Fixed Term Electronic Resources Librarian will 
report to the Collection Management Librarian.  

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree or international equivalent in library or information 
science; familiarity with online databases and journal packages; 
knowledge of vendors of these products; excellent computer skills 
including spreadsheet proficiency; strong analytical and problem-
solving skills; evidence of skill in coordinating projects and 
attention to detail; ability to work as a member of a team.

Candidates with Master's degree completed by 7/1/2007 will also be 
considered for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with database licenses; experience with electronic 
resources management systems and link resolvers; previous academic 
library work; knowledge of or coursework in serials management.

collection of more than 1.2 million bound volumes, 13,000 periodical 
subscriptions, 12,000 electronic journals, 2.4 million microforms, 
and extensive collections of government documents, maps, manuscripts,
and archival records.  ALS has a $2.8 million materials budget and

Salary and Benefits: 

This is a fixed term faculty position with a contract period of one 
year.  It includes a comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be 
commensurate with candidate's experience and professional achievement,
with a minimum of $38,000.
