(PVLR) Interest Group's open forum on:
Libraries and University Presses Working Together?
8 - 10 AM on Monday, January 22, 2007
Washington State Convention & Trade Center, Room 201
Want to know more about how libraries are collaborating with university
presses? How are roles changing and what are the new publishing
opportunities for libraries? In this, the second of two forums devoted
to the state of the university press, the ALCTS PVLR Interest Group will
bring together distinguished representatives from libraries and presses
for an open discussion of their strategies for success.
Our speakers will include:
Terry Ehling, Director, Center for Innovative Publishing, Office of
Scholarly Communications and Collections Development, Cornell University
Library
Alex Holzman, Director, Temple University Press
Monica McCormick, Director of Digital Publishing, NCSU Libraries, North
Carolina State University
At the end of the forum, stay for brief updates from the DLF ERMI group
on
their current effort to facilitate acquisitions data exchange between
ILS
and ERMS systems, and from the PCC on a MARC guide for monograph
aggregator vendors that they are producing.
PVLR also has a business meeting which is open to all at every ALA on
Saturday afternoon. Please join us from 1:30 - 3:30 on Saturday Jan.
20th
at the Westin Seattle, Olympic Room.
