Position: Librarian III - Collection Development
Salary Range: $53,373 - $64,854 annually (M.L.S. premium: $50.00
biweekly)
Filing Deadline: Submit completed application by October 15, 2006 for
first consideration.
San Diego County Library seeks outstanding candidates for the position
of Collection Development Librarian (Librarian III). We're looking for a
leader to coordinate material selection for our 32 branches and 2 mobile
library service areas. Responsibilities shall include: formulating
collection development policies and procedures; supervising collection
development staff; selecting materials using traditional and electronic
resources; communicating with branch selectors on best practices;
coordination of intellectual freedom committee activities; monitoring
the materials budget; and creating recommended reading lists.
San Diego County Library serves over 1 million residents in the small-
town, rural, and suburban communities in San Diego County California,
outside the City of San Diego. The County offers an excellent benefits
