IDAHO STATE UNIVERSITY
ELECTRONIC RESOURCES LIBRARIAN

The Idaho State University Eli M. Oboler Library is seeking an 
Electronic Resources Librarian. The position is a full time, 
tenure-track position, and reports to the Associate University Librarian

for Technical Services. The position performs primary management of the 
library's electronic resources, and performs other duties expected of 
all library faculty, including instruction and bibliographic work. 
Responsibilities: Performs access, renewal and maintenance duties for 
the Library's electronic resources, and those duties required to 
guarantee continuing access to these resources; Participates in initial 
license review for electronic resources. Determines permissible use 
parameters and makes recommendations on license acceptance; Maintains 
linking capabilities and public use information for electronic resources

via the Library's Integrated Library System and/or its Electronic 
Resources Management System consistent with Library policy.; Maintains 
the Library's license and documentation file for its electronic 
resources. Recommends policies and/or procedures for improvement, 
maintenance, etc. of same.; Works collaboratively with Library Systems 
Department staff to establish and maintain access to electronic 
resources by all authorized means, including by proxy server.; Manages 
resource trials and maintains statistical data related to the use of the

Library's electronic resources as part of the selection and 
evaluation/assessment processes.; Serves as a member of the Library's 
Database Evaluation and Selection Committee (DESC).; Under the general 
coordination of the Associate University Librarian, serves as a 
bibliographer to designated academic departments and oversees the 
selection of materials in assigned subject areas. Assists in collection 
development and evaluation; monitors pertinent portions of the 
acquisitions budget; works to develop and maintain good relations with 
faculty members.; Participates in the Library's Instruction program by 
teaching a minimum of 25 hours per year.; Performs other 
responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor and the University

Librarian. ; Participates in professional activities, including 
university and Library committees and task forces, and attendance at 
professional meetings.

Required Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS from an ALA-accredited 
program.; Three years professional experience in an academic library.; 
Demonstrated experience in the management of electronic resources within

an academic setting, including knowledge of issues and practices related

to the dissemination of electronic information, i.e., copyright and 
intellectual property rights.; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple 
tasks and to work cooperatively with library staff members.;Excellent 
communication skills in both written and oral English.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing an Electronic Resources 
Management System and in utilizing the staff functions of an Integrated 
Library System.; Knowledge of basic cataloging principles.; Experience 
working with publishers and vendors of electronic resources.

Minimum Salary: $38,000 to $40,000; 12-month contract. Faculty 
appointment, tenure-track. Competitive benefit package.
