Electronic Resources Librarian
College Misericordia is currently recruiting for an Electronic
Resources Librarian. Primary responsibilities for this position are to
select, evaluate, and manage electronic information resources for the
library. Additional responsibilities include developing outreach
programs for distance education and learning, acting as liaison with
the IT department regarding library systems and technology, staffing
the reference desk, and providing library instruction.
The qualified candidate will be detail oriented, self-directed, and
possess the ability to handle multiple assignments in a professional
and efficient manner. The candidate will also be required to work
flexible hours including nights and weekends.
Computer proficiency and experience with basic computer software
programs is required. Experience with HTML/web authoring and editing
programs including on-line course management systems such as WebCT or
Blackboard are preferred. Prior experience using technology in an
educational/library setting and experience with Sirsi System are
strongly desired.
A Master's Degree in Library Science or equivalent from an ALA credited
Institution is required. The ideal candidate will have 2 years related
experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
