Apologies for cross-posting
Dear Acquisitions Librarian,
At the International Monetary Fund, we have a centralized information
procurement process. We purchase books, periodicals, and electronic
information resources for several libraries within our organization as
well as the staff of the organization (those materials kept in their
offices for their professional use).
We are now studying the possibility and efficiency of changing to a
decentralized procurement model. I would like to find out about the
best practices in this area. I would appreciate if you take a minute
or so to answer the below 5 questions:
1. Type of your organization (please put an X in front of the
relevant category)
Corporate
Academic
Government
International
Others (specify)
2. Do you use Credit Card (purchase card)?
If yes, what is the rough annual percentage of the number of orders
paid by credit card?
3. Do you purchase for the staff of your organizations as opposed to
purchasing just for the library(ies) within your organization?
4. If you have more than one library, do you have a centralized
procurement for information materials? Or each library does its own
purchasing?
5. Your additional comment (optional):
Please reply directly to: mdehnadi_at_imf.org
