Baylor University
Collection Development Librarian position

Baylor University, located in sunny and affordable Central Texas, seeks
an innovative and energetic individual to fill the Collection
Development Librarian position. This position is a non-tenure track,
Academic Professional position with faculty rank and status.   Working
cooperatively with library faculty and staff, the successful candidate
will support the Assistant Director in all aspects of collection
development for the Central Libraries, coordinate collection development
between Central Libraries and Special Collections, and provide
leadership for the Collection Development Committee and library
consultants.

Duties for this position include assessment of the information needs of
the libraries' users, electronic resources license reviews, collection
interpretation and evaluation, selection of information resources, and
coordination of the library consultant program.  

Required qualifications:  ALA-accredited MLS with minimum of relevant
five years post-MLS professional experience in an academic institution;
familiarity with current collection development philosophy and practice
in academic libraries;  experience with license agreement negotiation,
vendor pricing negotiation, or similar negotiations; experience in
evaluating and developing academic library collections; demonstrated
leadership in facilitating collaborative problem solving and group
decision-making; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with
people at all levels, both orally and in writing.

Minimum salary: $40,000 + benefits.
