Subject: Position Announcement
Acquisitions Librarian
NLM has an opening for an Acquisitions Librarian in the Serial Records
Section of the Technical Services Division. Duties of this position
include a variety of acquisitions activities for serials in all formats.
The position requires knowledge of print and electronic serials; and the
ability to assess, develop and implement technology to promote the
successful management of serials. Candidates should possess excellent
organizational and analytical skills, work well in teams both as a
member
and a leader, and be able to work flexibly in a rapidly changing
environment and to contribute to change.
Specific duties include:
Creates and maintains records to support the accurate and timely
acquisition of serials. Maintains working relationships with serial
subscription vendors and publishers worldwide through written, telephone
and e-mail communications.
Resolves and documents solutions to complex order and invoice problems.
Assists with digital resource management.
Acts as a resource person for Library Technicians.
