TECHNICAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN
The Arrowhead Library System in northeastern Minnesota, on the edge of
the BWCA and near the scenic North Shore, serves rural residents in a
seven-county area and coordinates cooperation among 29 member public
libraries. RESPONSIBLE FOR: managing technical services operations
including original cataloging using OCLC, acquisitions, processing, and
rotating collections within a Horizon environment. Monitors shared
database
cataloging for consistency and provides training for library support
staff
on and MARC. Also serves as lead person for maintaining & developing
agency website. He or she is expected to work as part of a team with the
other management personnel and will be responsible for serving as leader
for some objectives in agency's Strategic Plan. QUALIFICATIONS: ALA-
accredited MLS with a minimum of 2 cataloging courses. Minimum of three
years (five years preferred) related professional experience, including
OCLC lead cataloging. Skilled in use of code-level HTML. Previous
supervisory experience required. Experience with database migration a
plus. Annual salary: $50,320 for 2005, plus generous benefits. Send
