NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES

SERIALS LIBRARIAN

Responsibilities: Based in Acquisitions, plans, evaluates, and manages 
NCSU Libraries' serials acquisitions programs for print and digital 
resources. Formulates strategic plans for increasingly digital serials 
environment. Facilitates the licensing and tracking of digital 
resources. Develops and analyzes statistical and management reports.  
Supervises 6 staff, contributes to overall management of the department.

Reports to the Head of Acquisitions.

Qualifications:  ALA-accredited MLS. Demonstrated knowledge of serials 
industry, publishing trends, and contracts and licensing issues.  
Excellent oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal communication 
skills.  Ability to work independently and in teams.  Evidence of 
ability for ongoing professional development and contribution.  
Preferred:  Three or more years' relevant professional experience with 
serials in an academic library collection.  Experience managing 
electronic resources and licensing.  Supervisory experience strongly 
preferred.  Demonstrated record of ongoing professional development and 
contribution.

Salary and benefits: Competitive salary, commensurate with experience; 
minimum $45,000 with required qualifications, minimum $50,000 with 
preferred. Non-tenure track faculty status. Benefits include: Health 
insurance (comprehensive major medical); State, TIAA/ CREF or other 
retirement options. 24 vacation days. Relocation allowance.
