The National Library of Medicine <http://www.nlm.nih.gov/> seeks a
librarian
to select electronic and print resources, and to perform other duties
related to collection development and acquisitions. 

Recruitment period : 5/16/2005-6/10/2005 
Grade: GS 9/11/12 
Promotion potential:  GS 12
Salary range: $43365 - 81747

This position requires the ability to read and interpret scientific,
technical, professional, or medical literature in English and one or
more of
the following languages:  French, German, Russian, Japanese. In your
application, please be sure to address the language requirement, and

the knowledges, skills, and abilities (KSAs) listed in the announcement:
(1)
Knowledge of principles and practices of collection development and
acquisitions, including those issues related to electronic
publishing;(2)
Knowledge of the print and electronic literature of medicine, health,
life
sciences, chemistry, health policy and/or behavioral sciences; (3)
Ability
to edit MARC data in integrated library systems or bibliographic
utilities
and to utilize computer software; and (4) Ability to write clearly and
to
communicate effectively with vendors, library staff, and others.
