*Electronic Resources Team Leader*
Emory University's General Libraries invites applications and
nominations for a new Electronic Resources Team Leader who will have
overall responsibility for planning and leading the electronic resources
operations and services in support of the library's mission and
university's research and education program.** This position

*Key Responsibilities:*
The new team leader will provide leadership and direction for the
activities associated with licensing, activation, delivery and
maintenance of electronic information resources purchased or leased from
publishers, aggregators, and other vendors. He/she will play a lead role
in license agreement negotiations, coordinating the work of Electronic
Resources staff and others engaged in negotiating licenses; prioritize
and monitor license agreement negotiations; monitor licensing
negotiations and record-keeping for consistency in terms and conditions
and to assure quality control. The team leader will define and
coordinate the work of the Electronic Resources team staff engaged in
providing public access to electronic journals through support and
maintenance of link resolver software (e.g. SFX) and the University-wide
electronic journals database and support and maintenance of
administrative data for electronic journals in University-wide database;
he/she will participate in the shared work of responding to user
inquiries relating to access to electronic journals. The team leader
will serve with other Technical Services team leaders on the division's
Coordinating Group and participate in decision-making on division-wide
issues. The team leader will serve as a resource for all Emory libraries
on licensing and electronic resource products and work collaboratively
with a variety of staff in the Emory University libraries to provide a
comprehensive approach to managing electronic resources for access by
Emory users. He/she will represent the library in key national and
regional and campus organizations and initiatives.
*Qualifications:*
The successful candidate will have solid experience negotiating and
monitoring licensing agreements for electronic resources, experience
with link resolver software, and familiarity with electronic resource
management systems. The leader will be knowledgeable of trends in
electronic publishing, issues relating to electronic resources and
scholarly communication, and will have the ability to work with vendors
and publishers. He/she will have experience leading or managing a team
or team project and demonstrated experience developing and implementing
effective work routines and procedures. Effective interpersonal skills
and oral and written communication skills are essential. An
ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent advanced degree in library or
information science is required as well as experience in an integrated
automated environment in an academic or large public library.
Demonstrated record of professional involvement and contribution is
expected.
*Salary and Benefits*: Salary and Librarian rank dependent upon
qualifications and experience. Emory University offers a comprehensive
