Acquisitions Librarian
Texas A&M University-Commerce
Commerce, TX
Coordinates and manages the acquisition of all library materials regardless of format
(monographs, serials, or electronic). Utilizes the library's automated acquisitions system
and departmental records to reconcile all orders with the university accounting system.
Coordinates weeding of the library collection. Supervises the receipt of monographic gifts.
Budget for all the activities in this position is some $850,000. Acquisitions Librarian reports
to the Library Director.
Salary: $33,868
Required Education: ALA accredited Master's
Experience: Prefer experience in an Acquisitions Department of an academic library. Will
consider library experience in the acquisition of monographs, serials, or electronic products.
Supervisory experience a plus.

Interviews will be conducted at the Texas Library Association, and applicants not at TLA may be
brought to campus as the selection process continues.
Texas A&M-Commerce is a doctoral-granting institution with a current
enrollment of 8,400 students in a town of about the same size. Commerce
is 65 miles northeast of Dallas in a relatively low cost of living location. The library has approximately
1.7 million volumes.
