TECHNICAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN-ELECTRONIC/DIGITAL RESOURCES 

The University of Northern Colorado seeks applicants for the position of

Technical Services Librarian-Electronic/Digital Resources and Assistant 
Professor of University Libraries position number 21977.

This is a term faculty position, renewable annually that reports to the 
Technical Services Co-Manager-Acquisitions/Serials. This new position
will 
assume a key role in the management of electronic and digital resources
in 
an evolving technical services environment. Collaborates with the
co-manager 
to negotiate licenses for electronic resources. Works cooperatively with

other technical services personnel to activate, catalog, maintain, 
troubleshoot and compile statistics for the Libraries' collection of 
electronic resources. Helps develop and maintain databases utilized for 
managing electronic resources. Serves as liaison with the subject
librarians 
regarding electronic resources including coordinating renewals and
setting 
up training opportunities. Provides general support to technical
services by 
establishing parameters for and coordinating data loads from various
vendors 
into the Innovative Interfaces integrated library system. Will develop
an 
understanding of metadata schema and serve as technical services liaison
to 
other library departments regarding the interface of metadata for
digital 
objects within the online catalog. Provides reference service. library 
instruction, or collection development in an appropriate area. Must have

strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with 
library personnel.

REQUIRED: Earned Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school. 
PREFERRED: Knowledge of acquisitions/serials/cataloging; knowledge of 
electronic resources; knowledge of metadata and other markup schema; 
experience in providing reference service, delivery of instruction, or 
collection development. 

Salary minimum is $37,000 (negotiable) per year. The starting date is
July 1, 
2005 (negotiable).
