Subject: Meeting Announcement
The Automated Acquisitions and In Process Control Discussion Group will
meet on Sunday, January 16th from 9:30 to 11 in Room 309, Hynes
Convention Center.
Come join in a lively discussion on extending the acquisitions module
of the integrated library system. Rick Lugg of R2 Consulting will set
the context for a discussion by panelists Scott Wickes, Cornell
University; Robert Cleary, Syracuse University; and Dena Schoen, Otto
Harrassowitz, about automated selection tools, electronic transfer of
accounting data, and e-resource management systems that have been
designed locally or commercially to provide functionality lacking in the
current generation of integrated systems. This should be a good
opportunity for us to consider what we should and shouldn't be
reasonably expecting from an acquisitions system, and how to make the
best use of a combination of solutions to for improving local workflow.
See you in Boston.
