City College of San Francisco is currently accepting applications for a 
Full-Time, Tenure-Track position and for a part-time pool.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Assist in managing the staff and functions of the 
Cataloging and Acquisitions Departments; Provide original and complex
copy 
cataloging of print, non-print, and electronic monographs and serials on

OCLC; Provide authority control and database maintenance; plan implement

and oversee the outsourcing of authority records to a bibliographic 
utility such as OCLC; Plan, implement, and troubleshoot cataloging 
software and functions of an automated library system, including 
preparation of collection profiles, indexing and display maps for the 
migration of the bibliographic database from Dynix to Innovative
Millennium 
system; Train and support necessary library staff in the use of
cataloging 
software (including OCLC, Innovative Millennium, Cataloger's Desktop,
and 
Classification Plus) and in the application of cataloging rules and 
policies; Provide reference service, bibliographic instruction, and data

collection development at the Rosenberg Library or at one of the other 
campus libraries as assigned by the immediate supervisor; Provide 
instruction in the use of information resources and information
competency 
skills: 1) on a one-to-one basis as part of reference service, 2) for 
students enrolled in the library's self-paced credit course, 3) in 
classroom setting, 4) for students enrolled in Library Information 
Technology courses, 5) for students and faculty participating in the 
general library skills workshops, 6) for special clienteles, such as 
African American Achievement Program, the Puente Program, at-risk
students, 
ESL students, etc. as assigned; Create macros and scripts to customize 
cataloging software; Monitor trends in metadata and cataloging of
electronic 
resources and applying this knowledge to the planning, evaluation, and 
implementation of software, hardware, and data communications; Provide 
planning and assistance for migration from a non-automated acquisitions 
environment to Innovative Millennium system; Perform professional 
responsibilities required of faculty members, and perform other tasks
and 
responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor; Must be
flexible 
in adapting to changes in schedules and locations, and be available to
work 
late afternoons, evenings, and weekends at various campus libraries as 
required; Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

SALARY: 
For Tenure-Track Position: $48,190 to $72,387 annually plus benefits
For Hourly Position: $45.90 to $50.09 per hour

START DATE: Spring Semester 2005, beginning January 13, 2005 or as soon
as 
possible following the appointment.
