Director of Library
Technical Services 

YBP Library Services, a Baker & Taylor Company, is a global supplier of 
books and supporting services to academic and research libraries. We are
a 
fast-paced, team-oriented organization dedicated to the continuing 
development of our industry edge.

We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused professional to join

our team as director of library technical services. RESPONSIBILITIES
WILL 
INCLUDE working closely with members of the management team, customers,
and 
suppliers; providing developmental guidance to assist personnel in
improving 
efficiencies and meeting business needs; designing, implementing, and 
managing internal technical services systems; managing operations of the

cataloging, account processing, and book processing departments;
controlling 
overall workflow and recommending and implementing process improvement;
and 
maintaining technical services development through attendance at, and
active 
participation in, conferences and other professional meetings.

THE CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS an MLS degree or equivalent experience with 
technical services in an academic library environment with at least 5
years 
of increasingly responsible professional staff or managerial experience
in 
library technical services operations; experience in pricing and cost 
structure analysis along with profitability analysis; solid
understanding of 
library technical services; superior writing and verbal skills, coupled
with 
strong interpersonal skills, and effective presentation/training
abilities; 
ability to work independently; and project management experience.
Occasional 
travel required.
