Acquisitions/Serials Librarian Duke University School of Law Library
The Duke Law Library is seeking an Acquisitions/Serials Librarian. The
Law Library is a research library with a collection of over 600,000
volumes and a staff of 23, including 10 professional librarians. The
Library is in the process of implementing a campus-wide Ex Libris integrated
library system.
Responsibilities: The Acquisitions/Serials Librarian has primary
responsibility for the acquisitions and serials operations of the Law
Library, supervising 4.0 FTE paraprofessionals. The position reports to
the Head of Technical Services, and works closely with the Deputy Director
of the Law Library and Collection Development Committee.
Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate will have excellent
written and oral communication skills; knowledge of U.S. and foreign
publishing industry; the ability to work effectively and collaboratively
with diverse groups; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
willingness to learn and be flexible. An MLS or equivalent from an ALA
accredited program is required. Strongly prefer candidates with technical
services experience in law or academic libraries; experience with an
integrated library system preferably, Ex Libris; proven managerial skills;
working knowledge of foreign languages. For a complete job description,
