Schmidt Library of York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for

two tenure track library faculty positions.

Collection Development Librarian to manage newly created collection 
development team of acquisitions, cataloging, document delivery, and 
periodicals administrative staff specialists.  The team is responsible
for 
acquisition of and access to all types of library materials and works 
closely with Library Systems and all other new library teams to deliver 
information resources in support of the curriculum.  The Collection 
Development librarian teaches in the Information Literacy 101 program
and 
provides research services with all other library faculty.

Instruction Librarian to manage all instruction programs, especially 
Information Literacy 101, York College's two-credit core curriculum
course. 
The Instruction Librarian is responsible for the content of the online
eText
at http://www.ycp.edu/library/ifl/etext/ethome.html, teaching and
assessment 
of IFL 101, and scheduling, recruitment and training of adjunct faculty.

The Instruction Librarian also works with other teams to provide
workshops 
for faculty on new products and services, coordinate staff training for
new 
positions effective July 1, 2004, and design new research services.

Both positions require the ALA accredited master's degree.  Preference
will 
be given to applicants with two to three years relevant experience.

Candidates should possess ability

   reorganized library
~  To provide dynamic and cooperative leadership for new staff teams ~
To 
teach all components of IFL101 ~  To provide curriculum support with 
collection development, instruction, and research services

the arts and sciences and in professional fields.  The college has an 
enrollment of 4100 full-time and 1300 part-time students.  The campus is

located in South-Central Pennsylvania (50 miles north of Baltimore).
