Subject: Discussion Group Meeting Announcement
SEARCHING FOR GOLD IN THE CARIBBEAN: USING THE INTERNET TO FIND WAYWARD
GEMS
The ALCTS Out-of-Print Discussion Group (OPDG) invites you to attend
this
year's discussion at ALA-Annual in Orlando, featuring bookseller Michael
Slicker from Lighthouse Books (in St. Petersburg, FL) who will present
techniques and strategies for filling international collection gaps.
Mr.
Slicker has deep experience helping libraries source hard-to-find
materials
from the region, and will share booksellers' secrets to finding bargains
and rarities online.
Here's hoping your schedule permits:
DATE -- Sunday, June 28
TIME -- 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
ROOM -- Orange County Convention Center, Room 311 D
In addition, we'd like to conduct some (very) brief DG business, where
we
will solicit names and/or nominations for incoming vice-chair of the
OPDG,
and ideas for future discussions, in an effort to keep these kinds of
timely topics on the agenda at every ALA.
Meanwhile, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Best Regards,

--Lia Hemphill (vice-chair, incoming chair), Nova Southeastern Univ,
