Director of Information, Delivery, Organization, and Retrieval (IDOR),
i.e. original and copy cataloging and technical services

University of Southern California
Information Services Division

The University of Southern California's Information Services Division
(ISD) 
is seeking a knowledgeable and innovative Director of Information
Delivery 
Organization and Retrieval (IDOR) to provide leadership for cataloging
and 
technical services for the university libraries. The successful
candidate 
will provide leadership, direction and management to 27 professionals
and 
paraprofessionals, with a focus on anticipating future trends in an
evolving 
and increasingly integrated information management and access
environment.

Reporting to the Associate Executive Director for Information Delivery
and 
Management (IDM), the successful candidate will have the primary 
responsibility to achieve integrated access to all library materials, 
regardless of format and language. The ISD recently created 
interdisciplinary teams and  centers in response to its new strategic
plan. 
The Director of IDOR will work closely with the teams and centers to
provide 
seamless access to USC's physical collections and electronic resources.

The position requires an MLS from an ALA-accredited institution, (or
another 
advanced degree plus equivalent library experience), and three to five
years 
experience in an academic or research library, with progressive 
responsibility and supervisory experience. An appointment will be made
at 
the Librarian II or III level, rank and salary commensurate with 
qualifications and experience. The target hiring range is $60,000 to
$75,000, 
plus a comprehensive benefits package. The closing date for applications
