Librarian/Acquisitions
Responsibilities: Coordinates and manages acquisitions of library materials
in all formats, including out-of-print monographs, serials, media, and
online
databases. Serves as principal contact with vendors. Oversees and annually
reviews allocation of funds according to subject areas and prepares library
budget reports. Works cooperatively with the College Business Office and the
Library cataloguing unit. Provides statistical/financial/evaluative reports
to library administration. Responsible for gift routines, including
occasional offcampus pick-up of material. Supervises
ordering/receipt/bindery
fund disbursement process. Participates in reference services. Performs
department, college, and university service; and engages in an active
research
agenda. Reports to Chief Librarian.
Qualifications: MLS from an ALA accredited library school; second graduate
degree for Assistant Professor rank. Experience with integrated online
library
systems. Ability to assess, develop, and implement new acquisitions
technologies. Knowledge of the publishing trade; budgeting experience; and
reference experience preferred. Strong organizational skills. Excellent
analytical, interpersonal, and supervisory skills. Ability to work
effectively
in a collegial manner in .a changing environment.
Rank & salary (Commensurate with qualifications):
Instructor $40,366 - $48,658; Assistant Professor $47,331 - $61,111
