Department Head, Serials Services
John C. Pace Library
University of West Florida, Pensacola, FL

Reports to Director of Libraries.
Full time, 12 month, non-tenured faculty position. Minimum salary:
$41,000.

We seek an Assistant or Associate Librarian who will provide leadership
and direction for the operation and maintenance of our serials
collection and its services; supervise 5 paraprofessionals and student
assistants; plan and implement services that provide access to the
serials collections; represent the department on appropriate library and
university committees; maintain an effective working relationship with
serials vendors, library administrators, and other library departments;
provide leadership in resource and budget management for the department;
negotiate and work with faculty to determine the future of the print and
online balance of the serials collection; and, promote a service
oriented environment.

Requires an ALA accredited MLS degree; appropriate professional library
and management experience; knowledge of a wide range of library
operations and services, particularly relating to automation; effective
communication and interpersonal skills; professional cataloging and
appropriate budgeting experience.
