Subject: Meeting Announcement
An ISBN Briefing: Size Matters!
Date: Monday, January 12, 2004
Time: 3:00pm-5:30pm
Location: San Diego Convention Center, Room 2
If you will be attending the ALA Midwinter in San Diego in January you will
want to attend the special briefing NISO is sponsoring on the implementation
of the revised and expanded ISBN standard. As of January 1, 2007 the book
industry will use a 13-digit ISBN. How will this change impact your
company's or your library's internal operations and your communications with
your business partners? What does your back office need to do to get ready
and when? A group of expert speakers representing library systems,
publishers, book retailers and distributors will explain what's happening
and how to make this a seamless and smooth transition. This program is free
to NISO members; $149 all others.
The Agenda, speakers, and the registration form are on the NISO website:
http://www.niso.org/news/events_workshops/ISBN-prog-ALA-04.html
Registration deadline: January 6.
Contact Jane Thomson at T: 301-654-2512 (email: jthomson_at_niso.org) if you
have any questions.
