APPLICANTS SOUGHT FOR 3M/NMRT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT
Deadline: December 15, 2003

Have you always wanted to attend an ALA Conference, but aren't sure if
you can afford it? 3M Library Systems continues its partnership with
ALA's New Members Round Table (NMRT) in sponsoring the annual
Professional Development Grant program. The grant provides funding to
cover the cost of registration fees, airfare, lodging and some
incidental expenses for recipients to attend the ALA Annual Conference
in Orlando in June 2004. You must be a current member of ALA and NMRT to
apply. (NMRT membership is open to people who have been members of ALA
for up to ten years.)

The application deadline is December 15, 2003. I know that seems like a
long time away, but it's not! Send in your application today. The
selection of grant recipients will take place at the ALA Midwinter
meeting in January 2004.

To apply for the grant, go to http://www.ala.org/nmrt. Look for NMRT on
the left hand menu. Under that you should see "Apply for Funds".
Clicking on that will lead you to a page that lists grants available to
NMRT members. The 3M/NMRT Professional Development Grant is first on the
list. The application is an online form.

If you have any questions please contact Laura Kortz, chair of the
committee at nmrtgrant2004_at_yahoo.com or by phone at 201-200-3473. Thank
you.
