Subject: Call for Proposals
The ALCTS Acquisitions Section Out-of-Print Discussion Group is seeking
ideas (and participants) for a panel discussion at ALA Midwinter and we
invite you to send suggestions (sooner rather than later) regarding same to
either the DG's Chair (yours truly, contact info below) or new Vice Chair:
Lia Hemphill, Head of Collection Development, Nova Southeastern University,
lia_at_nova.edu.
As an example, a possible discussion being considered is how (if at all) to
emulate the early success of http://www.bookstoretourism.com vis a vis
libraries/rare book rooms/special collections. That said, we're very open
to new and different ideas, so here's hoping you'll feel to let us know what
you think.
Thank you,
Bill Kane, Alibris Library Services, billk_at_alibris.com
