Subject: Position Announcement

Position: LIBRARIAN III (Serials Manager, Main Library)
Salary Range: $40,295 plus excellent benefits.
Department: Library/System Public Service/Main Library
Location: 3650 Summit Boulevard, WPB
Hours: 40 Variable hours/week including evenings and weekends.
Other: Ability to lift 30 pounds preferred. Valid Florida Driver's License 
prior to appointment. (PBC Driving Policy: Have not been convicted of 3 
moving violations, 1 DUI/DWI in past 24 months)

Plans and oversees the delivery of service to patrons using serials, 
microforms, periodicals, audio visual equipment and online library 
resources. Responsible for administration of the Library Computer Center 
and supervises the Serials Section team of eight staff and five student 
employees. Coordinates the selection of new serial subscriptions, 
microform titles and online databases. Oversees printing and copier 
operations. Will plan and implement serials module of new library 
automation system to provide online bibliographic records for serials 
check-in. Provides serial expertise for the Library System. Works as 
part of the Main Library research team at the adult reference desk, 
develops the Professional Room collection and serves as editor of the 
SummitTalks newsletter.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires ALA accredited MLS and two years 
of professional experience that includes one year of supervisory 
responsibilities; or any equivalent combination of related training and 
experience.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Considerable knowledge of current trends in 
library technology. Team and project management experience. Knowledge of 
reference materials and methods. Knowledge of serials collection 
management and cataloging/organization.
