Serials Specialist in Collins Memorial Library, University of Puget Sound, 
Tacoma, WA

Full-time position. Responsible for all aspects of serials acquisitions and 
control, including magazines, periodicals, newspapers, newsletters, 
electronic resources and any material purchased on a subscription basis. 
Orders, renews, receives, processes, claims, binds, and discards materials. 
Processes invoices and credits; enters expenditures into accounting system; 
tracks and resolves refunds and incorrect charges. Sets up electronic 
serials subscriptions with publishers and verifies initial connections. 
Performs bibliographic searches using automated and manual databases and 
directories. Provides cataloging support for all periodical subscriptions. 
Requires one year of job-related experience or job-related education. 
Experience and/or knowledge of library processes and computer technology; 
excellent interpersonal and communication skills; keyboarding ability of 30 
wpm; demonstrated service orientation. Ability to work cooperatively and 
independently and operate assigned equipment also required. Bachelor's 
degree preferred. Hiring rate is $2,066 per month; generous benefits
