Subject: Muse Seeks Discussion Group Participants (ALA)
PARTICIPANTS SOUGHT FOR MUSE SESSIONS AT ALA
Project Muse is looking for volunteers to participate in a series of
discussion groups at the ALA Conference in Toronto. We will also be
conducting training sessions for those who are interested in learning
more about Muse. We hope to get valuable feedback from users of Project
Muse in order to continue to improve the functionality of our database
and to meet the needs of our subscribers. All activities will take place
in the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel.
DISCUSSION GROUPS
Muse seeks academic librarians who work with users and electronic
resources, particularly in the arts, humanities, or social sciences, to
participate in a series of discussion group meetings. Participants in a
discussion group will receive a $25 Amazon.com gift certificate. The
following times are available:
Saturday, June 21, 4-5:15 p.m. (refreshments provided)
Sunday, June 22, 12-1:15 p.m. (lunch provided)
Monday, June 23, 12-1:15 p.m. (lunch provided)
TRAINING SESSIONS
Project Muse will also offer two informal training sessions for
librarians. If you are new to Muse, want a refresher, or your institution
is considering subscribing to Muse, join us for an overview of Muse and
the resources provided for subscribing librarians. We'll also cover new
resources we are developing for librarians and get your feedback. Feel
free also to bring your questions or suggestions for us!
Participants will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Amazon.com gift
certificate.
General Project Muse Overview for Librarians - Sunday, June 22, 4-5:15 p.m.
This general overview will cover features of the Muse site, including the
search engine. Also covered will be linking arrangements with other

Searching and Doing Research in Project Muse - Monday, June 23, 4-5:15 p.m.

engine in depth. There will also be a brief general overview of tools and
resources available for subscribing libraries.
