ALCTS Out-of-Print Discussion Group Meeting Announcement:
NOT DEAD YET! OUT-OF-STOCK, OUT-OF-PRINT, AND REMAINDERS
Attend the ALCTS OP Discussion Group’s meeting for an insiders look at
the “evolution” of the book. Hear the thrilling tale of a book’s
“birth” as well as its lapse into the realm of out-of-stock indefinitely
(OSI) and/or out-of-print (OP. Discover how last month’s bestseller can
become this month’s remaindered bargain book. Two renowned experts in
the field will regale us with publishers’ tales of the business end of

Bob Rooney, V.P. Sales and Product Management, Taylor & Francis:
Bob has been in the publishing industry for 25 years. He is currently
the V.P. Sales and Product Management at Taylor & Francis where he has
worked for the past 17 years. Prior to coming to T&F, Bob was Director
of Sales at Chelsea House, and before that, he was a sales rep for WH
Smith for several years where he sold, among other things, remainders.

Brian Elliott, Senior VP Sales and Marketing, Alibris.
Brian is responsible for strategic partnerships, including institutional
and library sales. Brian has worked with consumer products and retail
companies for eight years with the Boston Consulting Group, focusing his
practice on developing and implementing growth strategies, with specific
focus on e-commerce opportunities and partnerships, and for the past
several years has helped to build Alibris into a comprehensive source of
new, used, and hard-to-find books. Brian graduated from Northwestern
University and received his MBA from the Harvard Business School. He
