Subject: Call for Nominations

*** CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR ALA TREASURER ***

The 2003 ALA Nominating Committee is now seeking two nominees to run on the
2003 spring ballot for the position of ALA Treasurer. The successful
candidate will fill the one year unexpired term of the current ALA
Treasurer,
who has announced her resignation as of June 2003. The term will begin at
the 2003 ALA Annual Conference in June and will expire at the conclusion of
the 2004 ALA Annual Conference. Nominees for this term are not precluded
from seeking consideration as candidates for a full term as Treasurer in the
2004 election.

Nominations are due no later than November 27, 2002.

Because the new Treasurer will not have the benefit of a long learning
curve,
qualified nominees should have proven financial background and experience,
including knowledge of financial preparation, accounting practices and
balance
sheets. The nominees should be familiar with ALA internal structure and be
able to demonstrate past participation in Association activities.

Nominations should include the following information: nominee name; present
position; institution; address; telephone; fax; e-mail address; and a brief
statement of qualifications. Because of the abbreviated selection period
available to the Nominating Committee, the Committee requests that those
making nominations ascertain, in advance of nominating, that the potential
candidate agrees to run for election if selected. Self nominations are
welcome by the Committee.

Nominations and supporting information should be addressed to Ann C.

Library, c/o 146 St Nicholas Ave., Englewood, NJ 07631-1639. Email:
