ALCTS Out-of-Print Discussion Group Meeting:

“Pushing Pause : Sources & Resources for Locating
Out-of-Print/Out-of-Distribution Media”

Do you feel as if you are caught in an endless “tape loop” looking for
out-of-print or out-of-distribution videos for your library’s media
collection? Not sure of what the copyright & usage laws are for that OP
video you just purchased? Join us for a lively presentation and
discussion featuring: online and print sources for identifying video
distribution sources; the nature of the video marketplace (i.e. the
feature marketplace; home video; independently distributed works) as it
applies to out-of-distribution materials availability; current copyright
pertaining to copying out-of-distribution materials; preservation copying,
format transfer, etc.; and strategies for acquiring out-of-distribution
media.

When: Monday, June 17th – 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Where: Atlanta Hilton, Adams Room

Our Presenters:
Gary Handman, Director, Media Resources Center, University of
California, Berkeley
