Subject: Position Announcement
Acquisitions/Serials Management Librarian. Entry Level position.
Responsible for managing Acquisitions and Serials activities.
Acquisitions duties include: materials ordering, pre cataloging processing,
vendor communication, and payment. Serials duties include: subscription
ordering and renewals, directing check-in, claiming and binding and
managing ejournals and full-text holdings. Responsible for developing and
implementing Innovative Interfaces (III) Acquisitions/Serials modules with
MOBIUS (consortium of Missouri academic libraries). Provide reference
support 5 hours / week plus weekend rotation. Recommends goals, objectives,
policies and develop statistical reports related to all
Acquisitions/Serials functions. Supervise one full-time staff and student
workers.
Required: M.L.S. from ALA accredited institution; familiar with
bibliographic tools, integrated systems, LC subject headings, AACRII/MARC
formats; strong organization and communication skills. Preferred:
Experience with acquisitions and serials management; experience with
Innovative Interfaces (III); 1 year academic library experience.
Salary: Minimum $2400/month depending upon experience / qualifications.
Missouri Western State College is a public, state-supported institution
