Associate Director
Technical Services

The University of St. Thomas libraries invite applicants for the new
position of Associate Director of Technical Services at O'Shaughnessy-Frey
Library.

Responsibilities:  Provide leadership for Acquisitions, Cataloging and
Serials staff (FTE = 8.3, including 4 librarians); catalog information
resources; coordinate operational activities of the departments; promote
and support team work and collaboration; participate in the strategic
planning for the UST Libraries; foster ongoing relationships with faculty
and other information professionals at St. Thomas.

Qualifications:  MLS required; minimum 5 years progressively responsible
professional experience in a technical services department in an academic
library including experience with collection development, acquisitions,
and serials, and with significant cataloging experience; excellent
communication and human relation skills.  We seek a dynamic leader who is
skilled in managing change, facilitating teamwork and collaboration and
who has an enthusiasm for a library which honors the core values of the
traditional library while developing the most appropriate innovations for
the future.  A strong candidate will see the library as an important
partner in knowledge management at the University of St. Thomas.
