Committee Volunteers Needed

ALCTS Acquisitions Section

As Vice-Chair of the Acquisitions Section (AS) of ALCTS, I will be making
appointments to AS committees between now and June 2002 for 2002/2003+.

Committees plan conference programs and educational institutes, and write
publications to help everyone in the profession. If you have experience and
expertise, please volunteer to share it with others in our rapidly changing
profession.

If you are a newcomer, please volunteer to voice what your needs are from
the Section. We have intern positions as well as regular committee slots.
If you've been on AS committees before, or on committees in other ALA
groups, volunteer to be a consultant or a member of a different committee;
your experience is the Section's major strength!

The committees of AS are:

Acquisitions Organization and Management
Education
Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award
Nominating
Policy and Planning
Publications
Research and Statistics
Technology

Committee charges are in the ALA Handbook of Organization, or at the
following web site:

Appointment to committees requires membership in ALA, ALCTS, and
AS.Membership in ALCTS is $45 per year in addition to the basic dues for
ALA.

Section membership is free, and may be selected on your dues form, or added
later by sending a request to the ALCTS office. WHEN you volunteer, it is
important to submit a volunteer form to the ALCTS office that is available
at:
