"At the Auction"
The Out of Print Discussion Group together with the Gifts and Exchange
Discussion Group invite you to a lively presentation on book auctions:
consigning, selling and buying books using eBay and standard auction
houses.
Dr Martin Gannon, a specialist in Rare Books, Manuscripts and
Entertainment Memorabilia at Butterfield's auction house and on eBay
Premier, will lead us through the process of auctioning items both on the
block and on the web.
Founded in 1865, Butterfield's is one of the world's oldest and largest
auction houses, specializing in the appraisal and sale of fine art,
antiques, and collectible objects in all major categories.
Butterfield's, originally created as a resource for Gold-Rush era
pioneers, now conducts more than 150 auctions annually and continues to
set auction records for prices realized.
Come and find out the latest on one of the most profitable ways to sell
your deaccessioned and gift books. Also learn about how to buy hard to
find books at the best prices.
Meeting is on Sunday June 17 from 2:00-4:00 in the Oxford Room at the
Westin St. Francis on Union Square.
