Automated Acquisitions and In process Control Discussion Group

Sunday, Jan 14 9:30 to 11:00 am
Renaissance Mayfair, Massachusetts Rm.
1127 Connecticut Ave (17th & L Streets)

Topic: EDI -- a cooperative venture
The panel will consist of a serial vendor, an ILS vendor and a librarian,
who will share with us their perspective on planning and implementing EDI
processes. Discussion from the audience is highly encouraged to broaden
these perspectives.

Speakers: William Hoffman, Swets Blackwell
		Kathryn Harnish, Endeavor
		Dianne McCutcheon, NLM
Karl Debus/Maureen Grant, U. Wisconsin Madison

We are focusing on the cooperative nature of an EDI implementation project
and the planning it takes to get ready for it. Librarians are very
interested in getting firsthand information to prepare and they will
probably ask more questions after a general overview of your process. You
might touch on the planning phase, the highlights and low lights of
implementation and any significant lessons you learned. Pretty
straightforward, right? If you have more in depth insights to offer, you
are certainly welcome to present those as well.

Thank you again for your help with this program.
Please let me know if you need any equipment, although no props are
necessary.

A summary of this panel will be published in Technical Services Quarterly,
and you could help by giving me an overview of your notes (if any) since I
summarize.
